The BottleneckIQ issue panel surfaces per-issue time-per-status data directly on the Jira issue view. Here's how to use it.
How to show the panel on an individual issue
On any Jira issue, click the Apps button (hexagon icon) on the right side of the issue. Select BottleneckIQ from the dropdown. The panel appears showing the status history, the external-blocking marker per stage, and a deep link back to your project dashboard.
Once shown, the panel stays visible on that issue for everyone who views it.
Atlassian platform behavior
Forge issue panels (including BottleneckIQ) currently require this per-issue Apps-button action to become visible. This is documented by Atlassian as a known platform limitation:
- Tracking issue: FRGE-734 — Atlassian is working on an official solution.
- Atlassian's published admin workaround: Enabling Jira Issue Panels by default: A guide for Jira Administrators. Project admins can run the JavaScript snippet documented in that guide to pre-enable the panel across a JQL-selected set of issues. The snippet is authored and maintained by Atlassian's developer community; we link it here so admins can use it if they choose.
When Atlassian ships the official solution to FRGE-734, the manual Apps-button step will go away platform-wide. BottleneckIQ will pick that up automatically.
